Coaching for Young Men

Men's cohorts

Over the course of my years in clinical practice, I experienced the beautiful heart of the young men in our culture—young men who, by and large, have been issued off to the margins of societal resource and left there to fend for themselves in their search for meaning, purpose, and guidance. I recall being such a young man, myself. But I also recall looking round upon a world that had yet to turn its back on the young men of our society with such scorn. A young man in my generation could look ahead with hope to the future, and there locate attainable landings for the desires of his heart, could find signposts for his own life-calling—whether, his wish to find a meaningful match between his interests and gainful employment, his hopes to one day have a family of his own, his questions about how to bring his best to the love of his life, or how to hone aspects of his character that needed growth or reform, a young man in my generation could look out into the world and find competent guidance in these territories of vocation.

Times have changed. I am raising a young adult son in this generation and am deeply grieved by what our culture has to tell him about who he and his contemporaries are; about how he is regarded as a self, and about how he and his fellows are regarded as a species. If you find yourself in search of guidance in the pursuit of your calling—if any of the territories I’ve mentioned above, or any besides, are places that you experience need—it would be my true honour to walk with you through these vital aspects of your journey into manhood. I’m rooting for you and would love to encounter you and your peers in one of our cohorts.

Through bi-weekly engagement in the group context, please consider joining us in a journey into the heart of men and the heart of vocation. We’ll meet in a variety of settings—indoors for meals, outdoors on the river and around the campfire—all with you and your beautiful interests in mind. I’m blessed that you stopped by, good man, and I look forward to the prospect of journeying with you.
